What they need

We’re opening a brand-new Tabitha’s — and we’re looking for the person to lead it.

We’re hiring a Store Manager for our newest Manchester city centre location.

This isn’t a role where you’ll walk into an established store and simply keep it running.

You’ll join us ahead of opening and help build it from the ground up — recruiting your team, establishing the culture, setting expectations and getting the store ready to open its doors.

Once open, you’ll have genuine ownership of the store.

Your team. Your standards. Your numbers. Your customer experience.

We’re looking for an experienced hospitality leader who:

  • Has managed a busy, high-volume operation
  • Knows how to build and develop a brilliant team
  • Understands sales, labour, KPIs and commercial performance
  • Has exceptionally high standards
  • Leads from the floor and isn’t afraid of accountability
  • Spots problems and takes ownership of solving them
  • Genuinely understands great hospitality

Specialty coffee experience is a bonus, but it isn’t essential.

We can teach our coffee programme, recipes and systems. We’re looking for someone who already knows how to lead.

Experience opening a new hospitality location would be a significant advantage.

Store Manager — New Store Opening

Manchester City Centre

£32,000–£35,000

Full-time, permanent

Genuine progression as Tabitha’s continues to grow

For the right person, this is an opportunity to put your stamp on a completely new Tabitha’s location and build a team and store you’re genuinely proud of.

If that sounds like you — or you know somebody brilliant — we’d love to hear from you.

Apply via LinkedIn or send your CV and a little about yourself to [email protected].

We’re not looking for someone to simply run a store. We’re looking for someone to build an exceptional one.

About Us

Tabitha's Coffee is an independent specialty coffee shop built on exceptional coffee, genuine hospitality and creating memorable customer experiences.

Since opening, we've grown rapidly and are now entering an exciting new stage of development. This is an opportunity to work closely with the founders, lead a talented team and play a key role in the future growth of the company.

The Role

As General Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the business while driving team performance, accountability, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

We're looking for someone who thrives on ownership, enjoys developing people and is excited by the challenge of helping scale a growing independent brand.

You won't just manage the business — you'll help shape it.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Create a positive, accountable and supportive working culture
  • Deliver coaching, feedback and performance conversations confidently and professionally
  • Support team development and progression pathways

Operations

  • Ensure consistently high standards of service, quality and cleanliness
  • Maintain strong workflow and shift organisation
  • Drive operational efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Support profitability and business performance goals
  • Take ownership of operational challenges and proactively implement solutions

Recruitment & Development

  • Help build future leaders within the team
  • Contribute to long-term people and growth strategies

What Success Looks Like

  • A motivated, engaged and accountable team
  • Exceptional customer experiences delivered consistently
  • Strong operational standards across every shift
  • Clear communication between management, team members and founders
  • Proactive problem-solving rather than reactive firefighting
  • Continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • A culture where people are supported, challenged and developed

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous management experience within hospitality, specialty coffee, retail or another fast-paced customer-facing environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience delivering feedback and managing performance
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Strong operational awareness and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with systems, structure and accountability
  • A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership

Desirable

  • Specialty coffee experience
  • Experience growing or scaling hospitality businesses
  • Experience recruiting and developing teams
  • Understanding of labour management, stock control and business performance metrics

The Ideal Candidate

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy building systems and creating structure
  • Welcome feedback and use it as an opportunity to improve
  • Are comfortable having honest conversations and addressing challenges directly
  • Take ownership rather than waiting for direction
  • Balance high standards with a positive team culture
  • Are excited to work alongside founders and contribute to the growth of an ambitious independent business

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (£32,000–£38,000 depending on experience)
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Genuine progression opportunities as the business grows
  • The opportunity to shape and influence the future of the company
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment
  • The chance to leave a real mark on a growing independent brand

If you're passionate about hospitality, leadership, operational excellence and building something meaningful, we'd love to hear from you.
