Store Manager

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all store activities, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to company policies.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and train new employees to build a high-performing team dedicated to exceptional customer service.
• Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, purchasing, and merchandising strategies to maximize sales and minimize shrinkage.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and budgeting tasks with accuracy and integrity.
• Develop and execute marketing initiatives to increase store visibility, attract new customers, and promote sales campaigns.
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere.
• Monitor sales performance using retail math principles and sales management techniques to meet or exceed targets.
• Conduct regular staff training on product knowledge, sales techniques, safety procedures, and store policies to foster continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean, organized shopping environment.
• Utilize strong organizational skills to manage shift schedules, supervise team members, and coordinate daily tasks effectively.

Skills

• Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervising responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly advantageous for diverse customer interactions.
• Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations, purchasing negotiations, and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated expertise in employee orientation, training & development, recruiting, and performance management.
• Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations.
• Ability to lead teams effectively through motivation, coaching, and leadership qualities; prior assistant manager experience is preferred.
• Sound organizational skills for managing stock levels, merchandising displays, pricing strategies, and store operations.
• Experience with marketing initiatives aimed at increasing foot traffic and sales within the community.
• Knowledge of retail sales techniques including upselling and cross-selling strategies to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
