Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service through active communication and attentive listening.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and managing cash drawers.
• Assist customers with product demos and upselling to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure products are well-presented according to merchandising standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organize displays, and support inventory management through stocking and inventory checks.
• Handle phone inquiries professionally using proper phone etiquette; direct calls as needed.
• Support team members with cashiering duties, basic math calculations for transactions, and retail math accuracy.

Requirements

• Previous retail sales or grocery store experience is preferred but not required; we welcome eager learners!
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve our diverse community effectively.
• Experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail sales transactions is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and stock management is beneficial.
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are valued for future growth opportunities.
• Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cash drawer handling and basic math calculations.
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to foster positive interactions.
• Familiarity with retail store operations such as upselling, product demos, stocking, and retail math will help you succeed in this role.

Pay: $7.25 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 38.0 per week
