Storekeeper – Purchasing Department

Job Summary:
Responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and issuing hotel supplies, materials, food and beverage items, and other inventory according to hotel standards. Ensures accurate stock records, proper storage conditions, and timely availability of items for all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Check quantities, quality, expiry dates, and specifications of received items.
• Properly store items in designated areas according to hotel hygiene and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the hotel's inventory system or stock cards.
• Issue materials and supplies to departments based on approved requisitions.
• Monitor stock levels and report low-stock, damaged, expired, or slow-moving items.
• Follow FIFO/FEFO procedures where applicable.
• Conduct regular stock counts and participate in monthly physical inventories.
• Coordinate with the Purchasing, Receiving, Finance, Kitchen, Housekeeping, and other departments.
• Ensure storerooms are clean, organized, secure, and properly labeled.
• Prevent stock losses, wastage, and unauthorized access.
• Prepare stock reports and assist with inventory reconciliation.
• Follow hotel policies, HACCP, food safety, health, and occupational safety requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager or Store Manager.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
• Basic computer skills; knowledge of hotel inventory/POS systems is an advantage.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO and basic food-storage standards is preferred.
• Physically fit and able to handle and move stock safely.
