Storekeeper

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials, supplies, and goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and other relevant documents.
• Check quantities, item descriptions, specifications, and physical condition of received materials.
• Properly arrange and store materials in designated locations for easy identification and retrieval.
• Maintain proper labeling and organization of warehouse items.
• Issue materials to departments based on approved material requests and maintain accurate records of all issues.
• Update inventory records and ensure all stock movements are properly documented.
• Conduct regular physical stock checks and assist with periodic inventory counts.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, excess stock, damaged items, or discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
• Maintain accurate documentation including GRNs, material issue notes, transfer records, and stock reports.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Projects, and other departments regarding material availability and requirements.
• Ensure materials are stored safely and appropriately to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper housekeeping within the warehouse.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts where authorized and appropriately licensed.
• Follow company procedures related to warehouse control, health and safety, and inventory management.
• Perform other warehouse-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Storekeeper, or similar role.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or project-based environment is preferred.
• Good knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling.
• Ability to identify, count, organize, and track different types of materials and stock.
• Basic computer skills and experience using ERP/inventory management systems.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel for maintaining stock records and reports.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in a warehouse environment.
• Qatar experience is an advantage.
