What they need
Join our team at Clive Wilson Switchboards, a leading industrial switchboard manufacturer based in Invercargill, with over 58 years of experience in the industry. We pride ourselves on our dynamic workshop with skilled professionals across our electrical switchboard, powder coating, and engraving divisions.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Storeperson to join our team and run our Stores Department sole-charge. Prior experience as a Storeperson is essential, but not neccessary.
As a 3rd-generation Southland family-owned-and-operated business with a tight-knit team, we value the right attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and exceptional organisational skills. We are looking for someone who will actively demonstrate confidence and enthusiasm as sole-charge of our Store.
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments of goods, materials, and supplies.
- Unpacking and sorting items, ensuring proper labeling and storing them in designated areas.
- Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and promptly reporting any discrepancies or shortages.
- Preparing outgoing shipments by carefully packing and labeling items for delivery.
- Ensuring the Store is well-managed, maintaining excellent organisation, and a clean and safe working environment.
- Operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Communicating effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate inventory movements and address any issues or concerns.
- Demonstrating proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Suite of programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Following established procedures and protocols to maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
The position requires:
- Current New Zealand unrestricted work rights.
- Unrestricted full New Zealand driver's license.
- Forklift license.
As this position can be physically demanding, it is important that applicants are physically fit and in excellent health.
Please note only candidates currently located in New Zealand with unrestricted work rights will be considered for an interview.
For the right candidate, this role offers an immediate start, and comprehensive training will be provided with all processes fully documented. The working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday toThursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Friday 7:00am to 3:15pm, with a 30-minute lunch break around noon.
If you meet the above requirements and are interested in joining our locally-owned company, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
Please note, only applicants with a CV and covering letter will be considered for this position.
