Stores Assistant

We are seeking a reliable, versatile Stores and Dispatch Person to join our team in Underwood, QLD. This dynamic role bridges warehouse operations and office support. It will begin on a casual basis with a clear intention of transitioning into a permanent part-time position for the right candidate. You will handle incoming stock, order picking, dispatch, warehouse upkeep, local parts pickup, and provide front-desk phone reception support when needed.

Core Responsibilities - Stores, Dispatch & Warehouse Maintenance

• Receiving & Inwards Goods: Unload delivery vehicles, verify incoming stock against delivery dockets, check for damage, and enter inventory data.
• Order Picking & Packing: Accurately pick items based on picking slips and securely pack products to prevent transit damage.
• Stock Rearranging & Inventory: Periodically rearrange stock to maximize warehouse space efficiency and assist with regular stocktakes.
• Cleaning & Upkeep: Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free workspace by sweeping, managing packaging waste, and organizing dispatch areas.
• Local Parts Pickup: Drive to local suppliers to collect urgent parts or stock as required.

Reception & Admin Support

• Message Taking: Accurately record phone messages and efficiently forward them to the relevant team members.
• Customer Service: Assist with basic phone inquiries regarding order status or general business information.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Experience in a warehouse, stores, or dispatch environment.
• Driver's Licence: A valid, clean Australian Driver’s Licence is highly advantageous for running local pickup errands.
• Licenses: Valid Forklift Licence (LF) is highly desirable.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, bending, and stock rearranging.
• Attributes: A proactive, "can-do" attitude towards warehouse cleaning and maintaining an organized workspace.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
