Stores Person/Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and dependable Stores Person/Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing stock in the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory control. You will also partake in serving customers on the trade counter and answer the phone when required. You will deliver goods in a company vehicle covering holidays etc and when additional deliveries are required to existing routes. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help maintain smooth operations and exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities

• Safely operate a van or commercial vehicle to deliver goods to clients, suppliers, and other designated sites
• Load and unload stock with care, including heavy lifting when necessary
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and inventory movements
• Ensure all deliveries are completed on time while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
• Manage warehouse stock levels, organize storage areas, and assist with stock replenishment
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs

Experience

• Full UK drivers licence
• Experience operating vans or similar commercial vehicles in a professional setting
• Prior warehouse experience is highly desirable, including handling heavy loads and stock organization
• Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with team members and customers
• Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting and manual handling
• Knowledge of traffic regulations and safe driving practices in a commercial environment
