We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Stormwater Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing stormwater systems to ensure effective storm water management and compliance with environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrology, hydraulics, and environmental engineering, as well as experience with stormwater modeling software and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop stormwater management systems and infrastructure.
  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water flow and drainage.
  • Prepare technical reports, plans, and specifications for stormwater projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate stormwater system performance.
  • Prepare stormwater and erosion control plans for approval by regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare stormwater pollution prevention plans associated with industrial stormwater permits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license plus a minimum of five years of experience post licensure.
  • Proficiency in stormwater modeling software such as SWMM, HEC-RAS, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in designing and managing stormwater infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Why Join Us? Garrett & Moore is a great fit for professionals who value autonomy, flexibility, and meaningful work. If you’re looking for a structured office environment 5 days a week, we might not be the firm for you. Instead, we focus on doing great engineering, getting out on-site, and delivering results for our clients—without unnecessary distractions. We work hard, take pride in what we do, and then spend our free time on what matters most—whether that’s family, travel, or personal passions.

If that sounds like the right environment for you, send an email of interest and your resume to [email protected]
