Direct Hire ($70,000-$85,000)

Graham Personnel Services is looking for a talented, motivated, and results-driven Buyer to join our client’s team! We believe successful businesses are built by great people, and our client’s culture is grounded in people, integrity, and excellence.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in our supply chain operations by driving strategic sourcing initiatives, improving supplier performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting projects from sourcing through execution. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, project management, service, and operations teams to keep projects moving and ensure business needs are met.

If you enjoy solving challenges, negotiating with suppliers, and making a measurable impact, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

  • Lead purchasing and negotiations: Source and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms for components, equipment, and supplies to achieve the best value for the business.
  • Drive cost savings: Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage purchase orders: Enter accurate purchase orders into the ERP system, including pricing, account information, and expected ship dates.
  • Keep projects on track: Proactively expedite materials, prioritize suppliers, resolve supply challenges, and communicate delivery updates to project managers, service, and operations teams.
  • Build strong supplier partnerships: Develop relationships with key suppliers, evaluate supplier capabilities and capacity, and identify new sourcing opportunities.
  • Improve supplier performance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, purchase order backlog, PO accuracy, and premium freight, and drive corrective actions where needed.
  • Support project sourcing: Partner with engineering and project teams throughout the project lifecycle, serving as a key point of contact for supplier-related activities.
  • Strengthen purchasing processes: Improve purchasing procedures, documentation, and controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Drive quality improvements: Address supplier defects, resolve material issues, and coordinate the return of nonconforming materials within 48 hours.
  • Collaborate across the business: Work closely with internal stakeholders and fellow Project Buyers to share best practices, resolve challenges, and achieve common goals.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5–8 years of direct purchasing experience, preferably within an OEM environment.
  • Proven experience in materials management, including inventory control, physical inventory, and logistics.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical items and electrical components.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • The ability to organize, prioritize, and manage competing tasks, risks, resources, milestones, and deliverables.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Materials Management, Accounting, or Logistics is preferred. Relevant U.S. military experience is also valued.

Benefits:

Compensation & Financial Benefits

  • Competitive base salary.
  • Dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match up to 4%.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contributions.
  • Employee referral bonus program.

Health & Well-Being

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
  • Generous paid time off that increases with tenure.
  • Nine company-paid holidays.

Growth & Development

  • Education assistance.
  • Ongoing training and development led by internal and external industry experts.
  • Opportunities to expand your purchasing, sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management expertise.
