What they need
High Performance Sport New Zealand's (HPSNZ) vision is to inspire the nation through more New Zealanders winning on the world stage at Olympic/Paralympic Games and World Championships, with a focus on targeted sports.
We are recruiting for a fixed-term (12-month) Strategic Intelligence Reporting Advisor to coordinate intelligence gathering and high-quality analysis that enhances and supports effective monitoring and evaluation of key strategic initiatives within High Performance Sport New Zealand.
We’re looking for someone who builds strong relationships, manages their workload proactively, and can synthesise and analyse current and long-term trends to identify gaps in HPSNZ’s performance, operations, or monitoring and evaluation.
Depending on the project, this may involve researching and synthesising data insights to produce reports that contextualise HPSNZ’s operating environment or proposals for continuous improvement. You will also need excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
You will be responsible for identifying and validating insights that support strategy, programme management, and system-wide learning, while promoting opportunities to improve the efficiency, quality, and accessibility of data sources.
To be successful you will need:
Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills.
The ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences with differing technical backgrounds.
The ability to work collaboratively and engage stakeholders.
- Project and change management business case development.
- Desire to continuously learn and develop in a complex and ever-changing environment.
The skills you bring will help New Zealand succeed. If you have a strong and proven analytical background, are driven by improving strategic performance outcomes to help our kiwi athletes gain a competitive advantage, then this is an outstanding professional opportunity for the successful applicant.
Applications close 4 November 2026. We will review applications as we receive them, and encourage you to apply early.
