Strategic IT Project Manager

Join the client in an exciting opportunity as a Strategic IT Project Manager . This is a full-time, ongoing role based in Canberra, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your needs. The successful candidate will support the development of digital investment pricing and business cases for the Regulatory Price Review, playing a key role in shaping strategic digital initiatives within a regulated environment.

As The Selected Candidate, You Will

• Develop digital investment pricing and detailed cost estimates, including capital and operational expenses.
• Build financial models and conduct scenario analysis to inform investment decisions.
• Draft and finalise comprehensive digital business cases that clearly outline the need, options considered, costs, benefits, risks, and recommendations.
• Prepare executive papers and presentations to support investment approvals.
• Support the financial, technical, and investment documentation required for the Regulatory Price Review.
• Critically assess proposed digital investments, challenge assumptions, and provide evidence-based recommendations for senior decision-makers.
• Engage with stakeholders across the digital, finance, and regulatory teams, facilitating workshops and discussions.
• Maintain clear records of cost estimates, assumptions, risks, and supporting evidence, ensuring transparency and compliance with governance processes.

To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have

• 10+ years’ experience in IT/digital project management or similar senior roles.
• Strong expertise developing ICT/digital business cases, financial forecasts, and investment proposals.
• Proven ability to lead the end-to-end development of compelling business cases including rationale, options analysis, financial implications, and risks.
• Demonstrated experience in cost modelling, budgeting, and scenario analysis, with proficiency in Excel.
• A solid understanding of digital environments, including applications, cyber security, cloud, infrastructure, and data.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, capable of translating complex information into clear, decision-ready reports.
• Experience supporting regulatory processes, such as Price Reviews or investment planning within a regulated context, is highly desirable.
• Strong strategic and critical thinking abilities, with a confident approach to challenging assumptions and options.

It Is Desirable If You Have

• Prior experience working within highly regulated or governed environments supporting regulatory submissions.
• Knowledge of asset management plans or infrastructure planning.
