Working closely with reservoir, drilling, completions, production, facilities, midstream, land, commercial, and finance teams, you'll align development activities with corporate objectives, operational constraints, and capital allocation priorities. This is a great opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys serving as a key link between technical and business functions, providing schedule management, scenario analysis, and reporting that drive informed decision-making across the development program.

Location

This is a hybrid position based out of our Houston, TX office. You will be expected to work in the office three days a week.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the company's integrated development schedule to support execution of drilling, completions, production, facility, and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with operations, subsurface, finance, land, midstream, and commercial teams to ensure development activities are accurately represented and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate schedule updates, milestone tracking, and development timing changes to provide timely visibility into operational performance and capital program execution.
  • Support development planning efforts through scenario evaluation and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of changing operational, financial, regulatory, or market conditions.
  • Generate and distribute planning reports, dashboards, and performance metrics that improve visibility into schedule status, development progress, and key operational indicators.
  • Support annual budgeting, long-range planning, reserves planning, and forecast processes by providing schedule-driven inputs and development timing assumptions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities that improve capital efficiency and project execution.
  • Maintain planning data integrity by validating schedule assumptions, dependencies, and development criteria across functional teams.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of planning tools, reporting capabilities, and automated workflows to improve data accessibility and decision support.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, forecasting, and business processes through application of new technologies, analytics, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and presentations to management regarding development plans, operational performance, and strategic planning alternatives.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another accredited engineering discipline, with a minimum of five years of experience in upstream oil and gas, including planning, development engineering, reserves, operations engineering, drilling and completions, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience supporting integrated development planning, capital program management, scheduling, forecasting, or cross-functional operations coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute operational plans and business objectives.
  • Proficiency with development planning and scheduling software; experience with Actenum DSO or similar planning tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex operational and economic scenarios and understand cross-functional impacts.
  • Experience building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and visualization tools using Power BI, Spotfire, or comparable business intelligence platforms.
  • Familiarity with database and data management concepts, including the ability to work with structured datasets and automated reporting solutions.
  • Working knowledge of upstream oil and gas development workflows, including drilling, completions, production operations, facilities, and capital planning.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high levels of data accuracy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Appalachian Basin operations and familiarity with Ohio and Pennsylvania regulatory environments preferred.
