Job Summary

Strategic Sourcing Partner/Manager V - INR. Location: Bangalore (Hybrid). Shift: General Shift (IST Hours). Contract Duration: 12 months. Experience: 10+ years of overall experience; 7+ years of relevant experience. Autodesk is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing (Contractor) to support our Global Strategic Sourcing organization. This role will lead sourcing activities across assigned vendors and projects, with Technology as the primary focus, while also supporting categories such as Professional Services, HR, and Marketing as required. The successful candidate will operate as a senior individual contributor, independently managing complex sourcing initiatives and partnering with stakeholders across functions and geographies. Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned categories, with a primary focus on Technology.

• Review and analyze spend, supplier, and market data to identify opportunities for cost optimization, supplier consolidation, demand management, and contract renegotiation.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies in partnership with business stakeholders, incorporating business requirements, category strategies, supplier capabilities, and relevant market trends.

• Lead RFx processes from initiation through award, including requirements gathering, supplier identification, go/no-go criteria, evaluation methodology, scorecards and weighting, bidder discussions, commercial evaluation, negotiation, and contracting.

• Lead commercial negotiations for master agreements, statements of work, renewals, and other contractual arrangements, partnering closely with Legal and business stakeholders.

• Identify commercial, contractual, supplier, and operational risks and provide recommendations to stakeholders on appropriate mitigation approaches.

• Provide stakeholders with sourcing tools, processes, market insights, and guidance to support effective supplier selection and vendor management.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers.

• Manage multiple sourcing initiatives and changing priorities while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and delivery against agreed timelines.

• Act as a sourcing subject-matter expert, providing credible commercial advice and challenging stakeholders constructively when appropriate.

• Share sourcing knowledge and best practices with colleagues and contribute to the continued development of the broader sourcing organization.

  Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, and/or Category Management, ideally with significant experience in Technology sourcing.

• Demonstrated experience independently leading complex sourcing projects and commercial negotiations.

• Strong knowledge of RFx processes, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and supplier management.

• Ability to analyze commercial and spend data and translate findings into actionable sourcing strategies.

• Strong stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence senior business partners without direct authority.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Strong commercial judgment and ability to identify and communicate business and supplier risks.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience. Procurement or sourcing qualification is an advantage.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly establish credibility with stakeholders, take ownership of sourcing initiatives with limited oversight, and deliver strong commercial outcomes while maintaining productive supplier and stakeholder relationships. They will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and will be comfortable moving between market analysis, stakeholder discussions, supplier negotiations, and contracting activities.

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid). Role is an Individual Contributor; team is approximately 10 members, with around 80% located in India. Team manages roughly 70% of Autodesk's procurement spend. Experience flexibility: 12+, 14+, or more years of experience are welcome. There is a good possibility that the contingent role may convert into a permanent Autodesk position, subject to performance and budget approvals. Office attendance expectation is approximately once every 10 days, or once every two weeks.
