Strategy Associate

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for supporting the Strategy Office in conducting financial and strategic assessments of potential business opportunities, investments, strategic initiatives, and growth directions.

The role focuses on analyzing business and financial information, conducting feasibility studies, evaluating investment opportunities and M&A transactions, and developing financial models and business cases to assess strategic fit, financial attractiveness, risks, and potential business impact.

The role supports management in making informed decisions through structured financial analysis, scenario assessment, and clear strategic recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Financial Assessments

• Conduct financial and strategic assessments of potential business opportunities, investments, strategic initiatives, and growth directions.
• Define the scope, objectives, key assumptions, and analytical requirements of each study in alignment with the Strategy Office.
• Gather, validate, and analyze relevant financial, commercial, operational, and market information.
• Assess the strategic attractiveness, financial feasibility, and potential business impact of identified opportunities.
• Evaluate the alignment of potential opportunities with the company's overall strategy, capabilities, products, solutions, and growth objectives.

M&A & Investment Analysis

• Support the evaluation of potential Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, investments, and business expansion opportunities .
• Conduct preliminary financial and strategic assessment of potential acquisition and investment targets.
• Analyze target companies' financial performance, business models, profitability, growth prospects, and key value drivers.
• Support M&A assessments through financial analysis, valuation, scenario analysis, and investment return assessment.
• Identify key risks, assumptions, synergies, dependencies, and potential value creation opportunities associated with M&A and investment opportunities.
• Support management in comparing and prioritizing potential investment and strategic alternatives.

Financial Modeling & Business Cases

• Develop and maintain financial models to assess the financial attractiveness and potential impact of strategic opportunities.
• Analyze key financial drivers including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and investment requirements .
• Prepare financial scenarios and sensitivity analyses to assess different business assumptions and potential outcomes.
• Develop structured business cases incorporating financial, operational, commercial, and strategic considerations.
• Analyze the financial implications of different strategic alternatives and scenarios.

Feasibility Studies

• Conduct financial and commercial feasibility studies for potential projects, investments, new businesses, products, markets, and expansion opportunities.
• Assess expected revenues, operating costs, investment requirements, profitability, cash flows, and potential returns.
• Evaluate project viability based on relevant financial and business assumptions.
• Identify key risks and assumptions that may impact feasibility and investment decisions.
• Prepare clear conclusions and recommendations based on feasibility study findings.

CAPEX & OPEX Analysis

• Assess CAPEX requirements and investment needs associated with strategic projects and business opportunities.
• Analyze expected OPEX implications and ongoing operating requirements.
• Evaluate the financial impact of proposed investments on profitability, cash flow, and overall business performance.
• Support the evaluation and prioritization of investment alternatives based on expected returns and strategic value.

Strategic Analysis & Recommendations

• Monitor relevant industry, market, competitive, and economic developments and assess their potential strategic and financial implications.
• Develop structured analyses, frameworks, scenarios, and financial assessments to support strategic decision-making.
• Identify key opportunities, challenges, risks, assumptions, and dependencies associated with strategic options.
• Translate complex financial and business analysis into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
• Prepare executive presentations, feasibility studies, business cases, investment papers, and recommendation papers for management.

Business Strategy Support

• Support the Strategy Office in evaluating and prioritizing strategic initiatives and business opportunities.
• Support the development and review of business strategies and strategic plans through relevant financial and business analysis.
• Work closely with Finance, Business Units, Commercial, Operations, and other relevant functions to gather information and validate assumptions.
• Participate in business reviews, strategic discussions, and investment-related meetings and provide relevant analytical insights.
• Conduct ad-hoc financial and strategic analysis requested by the Strategy Office or senior management.

EXPERIENCE

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Strategy / Corporate Strategy
• M&A / Investment Banking
• Corporate Finance
• Transaction Advisory / Deal Advisory
• Financial Advisory
• Management Consulting
• Financial Planning & Analysis with strong business exposure
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, feasibility studies, business case development, or investment analysis .
• Exposure to M&A transactions, investment evaluation, company valuation, or due diligence is highly preferred.
• Experience analyzing CAPEX, OPEX, profitability, cash flow, and investment returns .
• Strong understanding of financial and strategic analysis frameworks.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field .
• CFA, FMVA, or relevant financial modeling/investment certifications would be an advantage.
