7:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday

SALARY:
$1963.51- $2257.05

DESCRIPTION:

Operates various CDL vehicles such as dump trucks, rear packer trucks, sanitation trucks, and

leaf vacuum trucks. A truck driver also responsible and assists in maintaining City roadways -

paving streets, patching streets, and refinishing streets. A truck driver also performs

landscaping duties such as grading slopes, seeding, cutting grass, trimming branches, and

removing trees and stumps from areas where needed. Operates various department vehicles

equipped with snow plowing equipment. Maintain accurate written records reflecting work

performed and materials and equipment used. Must be able to use computer and related

software. Performs general laborer duties such as litter collection and other cleaning duties.

Works some night, weekend and/or holiday hours. Serves on a 24-hour call for emergencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Working knowledge of, and ability to follow general departmental maintenance work

methods and procedures;

• Ability to safely use materials common to street maintenance work activities;

• Ability to legally operate assigned vehicles;

• Related work experience may substitute for education/training.

• Class B CDL is required to be obtained

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Incumbent works almost exclusively outdoors performing light to heavy work while walking,

standing or sitting. Incumbent is required to climb lift, carry, and use pushing and pulling

actions. Moderate hearing, color vision, and depth perception are required, while being

concerned with working speed.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed almost exclusively outside under noisy and hot/cold conditions. Incumbent

is exposed to dirt, dust, grease, vibrations, and electrical and mechanical hazards, Incumbent

is required to wear protective gear such as hard hat, safety vest, goggles, earplugs, and

gloves.
