We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structural & Miscellaneous Steel Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. Duties

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs for structural and miscellaneous steel components.
• Utilize estimating software such as Tekla Powerfab, Bluebeam and other construction management tools to develop detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs from blueprints and technical drawings, ensuring precise measurement of steel materials needed for each project.
• Manage project budgets by analyzing costs, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and implementing effective cost control strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include pricing, scope of work, and schedule considerations to win new projects.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure all estimates align with project specifications and expectations.
• Review construction contracts and manage change orders to adjust estimates as project scope evolves.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-site data, assess logistical considerations, and verify material quantities.
• Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, including spreadsheets, bid documents, and correspondence for future reference.

Experience

• Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software such as Tekla Powerfab, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and construction management software.
• Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction documents.
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and budgeting for large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with construction site practices, safety standards, contracts, and project management principles.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors while maintaining quality standards.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration to ensure accurate scope understanding and project delivery.
• Construction industry experience with a focus on structural steel or miscellaneous steel estimation is highly preferred.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
