Structural CAD Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural CAD Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. Duties

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D structural drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards
• Create comprehensive schematics and system designs for various structural components, including beams, columns, foundations, and framing systems
• Utilize advanced modeling tools like SketchUp, 3ds Max, Grasshopper 3D, Rhinoceros 3D, and ArchiCAD to produce realistic visualizations and detailed models for client presentations and design reviews
• Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise technical drawings
• Assist in the development of construction documents, including plans, sections, elevations, and details that facilitate smooth project execution
• Review and revise CAD drawings based on feedback or changes in project scope to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the design process
• Support system design efforts by integrating graphic design principles to enhance clarity and visual impact of technical documentation

Qualifications

• Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, ArchiCAD, and SolidWorks is essential
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, schematics, and construction processes
• Demonstrated proficiency in using SketchUp, 3ds Max, Grasshopper 3D, Rhinoceros 3D for modeling and visualization tasks
• Familiarity with graphic design principles to improve presentation quality of technical drawings
• Ability to interpret architectural/structural plans and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Prior experience in construction or engineering environments is highly desirable
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
