What they need

The Structural / Civil Engineer will take ownership of the structural and civil engineering coordination scope across the project, acting as an owner’s representative between design consultants, contractors, and operators. Review and coordinate structural and civil design deliverables, drive value engineering at the design stage, and manage deliverable tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communication, working with greater autonomy than a junior engineer and, where required, guiding junior team members.

Location: Athens, with occasional travel to Crete as required based on project needs.

Requirements

  • Lead coordination of the structural and civil works packages, managing the flow of information between consultants, contractors, and the operator.

  • Review structural and civil design deliverables (drawings, calculations, specifications) for completeness, coordination, and compliance with the project brief, codes, and operator standards.

  • Drive value-engineering (VE) at the design level of structural and civil works — challenging and optimizing structural schemes, foundation solutions, materials, and civil/infrastructure works to improve cost, buildability, and program, without compromising performance.

  • Identify and propose VE alternatives (e.g. structural systems, slab and foundation types, retaining and earthworks strategies), quantify cost and schedule impacts, and document options for decision-making.

  • Coordinate Civil and MEP design, and ensure the structural and civil packages are fully coordinated with architecture, MEP, landscape, and interior-design disciplines, driving resolution of interfaces, clashes, and open items.

  • Manage the transmittal, RFI, and submittal process for structural and civil scope; maintain the project coordination log and reporting dashboards.

  • Support tendering and contract administration — reviewing technical proposals, scopes of work, and variations for structural and civil works.

  • Conduct site inspections, track progress against program, and verify quality and compliance with structural and civil design intent.

  • Contribute to risk tracking, cost monitoring, and progress reporting to project leadership.

  • Coordinate permitting and regulatory matters for structural and civil works in collaboration with consultants and authorities.

  • Mentor junior engineers and help maintain coordination standards and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (5-year diploma or equivalent).
  • Registration with the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in a design office, with a strong focus on the design of building projects and structural/civil engineering coordination. Experience in development, project management, design coordination, or construction supervision is also valued; exposure to hospitality, resort, or large mixed-use projects is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in design-stage value engineering of structural and/or civil works is a strong advantage.

Tools & Skills

  • Solid understanding of structural and civil design and of the full project lifecycle — design, permitting, tendering, and construction.
  • Working knowledge of structural systems, foundations, earthworks, and infrastructure, with the ability to assess and optimize design solutions.
  • AutoCAD; familiarity with structural analysis/design software and quantity take-off tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Excel and project-tracking tools (e.g. MS Project).
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and Greek building regulations and approval processes.
  • Fluent Greek and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work independently.

Benefits

  • Competitive remuneration package based on qualifications and experience
  • Group Private Health & Insurance Program
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Participation in the Company’s Annual Bonus Program
  • A modern, friendly, creative, and constantly evolving work environment
  • Continuous support for personal and professional development
