Structural Clerk of Work

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Structural Clerk of Works to oversee and monitor structural construction activities on site, ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with approved structural drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising structural works, conducting inspections, identifying construction issues, and coordinating closely with contractors, consultants, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure works are completed safely, accurately, and according to the approved program

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise structural construction works on-site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
• Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concreate works, precast elements, structural steel, and other structural components before and during construction.
• Conduct regular sire inspections and identify defects, non-conformance, or poor workmanship
• Prepare inspection reports, site observations, and quality records.
• Coordinate with Structural Engineers, Architects, M&E Consultants, Quantity Surveyors, and Contractors to resolve technical and constructions issues.
• Verify that all corrective actions are completed before subsequent works proceed.
• Witness material testing, concreate cube tests, rebar inspections, and other quality assurance activities
• Attend project coordination meetings and provide updates on structural work progress
• Monitor construction progress against the project schedule.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and company quality procedures.
• Assist the Project Manager in maintaining project quality and timely completion.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural site supervision, Clerk of Works, or construction quality inspection
• Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed development projects will be an added advantage
• Able to interpret structural drawings and specifications
• Good knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and construction methods
• Familiarity with Malaysian Standards, UBBL, and CIDB requirements
• Good communication and report-writing skills
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with consultants and contractors
• Possess a valid driving license and willing to travel between project sites
