Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for structural analysis, design, calculations, preparation of structural drawings, and coordination with architectural and MEP disciplines.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of building structures and familiarity with UAE regulations, authority requirements, and international design standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building projects.
• Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and technical specifications.
• Design reinforced concrete and structural steel structures.
• Prepare structural drawings, details, and design documentation.
• Develop and review structural models using ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, or similar software.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review architectural drawings and identify structural requirements and conflicts.
• Prepare structural design packages for consultant and authority submissions.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable UAE codes, international standards, and project requirements.
• Respond to technical queries and coordinate design revisions.
• Review structural drawings and technical documents prepared by other engineers/draftsmen.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Assist in authority submissions and respond to authority comments.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure accuracy and quality of structural deliverables.
• Maintain proper records of calculations, drawings, revisions, and design documentation.
• Support senior engineers and project managers in delivering projects within agreed deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant structural design experience.
• Strong experience in structural design for building projects.
• Excellent knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
• Proficiency in ETABS and SAFE.
• Knowledge of SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit Structure is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of UAE building regulations, codes, and authority requirements.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles and international standards.
• UAE consultancy experience is preferred.
• UAE Society of Engineers registration is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Candidate Profile
