Structural Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

A Structural Design Engineer II oversees the structural design status of projects, reviewing outsourced designs and calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards. They develop detailed engineering design, drawings, and calculations, while collaborating closely with architectural, MEPF team, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration. The role involves coordinating with site operations to ensure proper implementation, resolving design issues promptly, and working with procurement and client to manage budgets and materials. Regular site visits are conducted to verify quality and safety standards, while continuously staying informed on the latest trends and best practices in structural engineering.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY

• Responsible for overseeing the design status of projects related to structural design.
• Reviews structural design and calculations prepared by outsourced designers to ensure that they meet project requirements and regulatory and safet standards.
• Conduct value engineering of plans.
• Develop engineering design, drawings, and calculations for structural components of building and structures.
• Collaborates with other teams members and stakeholders to ensure that structural designs are integrated effectively with architectural and MEPF elements of the building.
• Coordinates with Operations/ site team to ensure that structural designs are implemented as intended and any issues are resolved promptly.
• Coordinates with QS, Purchasing, and Procurement for the budget and sourcing our of materials prior approval.
• Coordinates with client or consultants and detailers for any design and drawing issue.
• Conducts site visits and inspections to ensure that structural designs are implemented correctly and meet all quality and safety standards.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering design and development.

QUALIFICATION

1. Education

• Graduate of bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

2. Experience

• 3-5 years working experience in the related field is required.
• Knowledgeable in Building Design, Construction, Formworks Design and Calculations, Building Regulations and Standards.
