Structural Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and technical documentation.
• Develop and review structural drawings, including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and structural framing systems.
• Analyze structural systems to ensure safety, stability, serviceability, and cost efficiency.
• Apply relevant international and local building codes and design standards.
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design conflicts.
• Review architectural drawings and project specifications to develop suitable structural solutions.
• Prepare and review structural design calculations and drawings for submission to clients and consultants.
• Support technical teams during construction by providing design clarifications and responding to RFIs.
• Review shop drawings and material submittals when required.
• Identify design discrepancies and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Ensure all design deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, preferably with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design principles.
• Good understanding of structural engineering codes and standards, such as ACI, AISC, ASCE, and applicable local codes.
• Proficiency in structural design and analysis software, such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and STAAD.Pro.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and preparing structural drawings.
• Knowledge of foundation design, load calculations, and structural modeling.
• Ability to prepare structural calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams and meet project deadlines.
