Our client based in Gillman is a trusted South Australian steel fabrication company delivering high-quality structural steel solutions across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Structural Drafter to join our Adelaide team and play a key role in the successful delivery of fabrication and construction projects.

We are seeking a full-time Structural Drafter to join our Adelaide-based team. In this on-site role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings and structural drafting documentation for steel fabrication and installation projects, ensuring all work is accurate and compliant with engineering specifications and relevant standards. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, workshop personnel, and clients to ensure designs are delivered efficiently and to the highest standard.

About the Role

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and material schedules for structural steel projects.
• Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, workshop supervisors, and site teams to resolve design and fabrication queries.
• Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
• Update and revise drawings throughout project lifecycles.
• Support digital modelling workflows and maintain drawing records and documentation.
• Assist with drafting improvements and contribute to process efficiencies within the design and fabrication team.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in structural drafting, steel detailing, or steel fabrication environments.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Revit, or similar platforms.
• Sound understanding of structural steel fabrication methods, drafting practices, and construction processes.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, and industry requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Qualification in drafting, engineering, construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
