Structural Draftsperson

Are you a skilled Structural Draftsperson who takes pride in producing clear, accurate model documentation? We are a small, tight-knit structural engineering consultancy based in Christchurch, and we are looking for a Revit-proficient draftsperson to join our team.

Our workload is primarily architectural residential projects, alongside a mix of commercial and industrial developments. We pride ourselves on creating quality designs and practical drawings that make the construction process seamless for clients and builders on-site.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Developing 3D structural models and 2D documentation using Revit.
• Drafting structural plans, elevations, sections, and construction details for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Applying practical structural knowledge to ensure detailing is accurate, buildable, and compliant with NZ standards.
• Collaborating closely with our engineers, and working with architects, clients, and on-site contractors to help deliver projects smoothly.
• We may occasionally ask you to visit a project site, to help take some site measurements, for preparing a set of ‘as-built’ plans.

What We’re Looking For:

• Revit Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using Revit for structural drafting and model coordination.
• Structural Knowledge: Solid understanding of New Zealand building construction methods; structural timber, steel, and concrete.
• Experience: Experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Attention to Detail: Pride in producing clean, accurate, and easy-to-read structural drawing sets.
• Communication & Work Ethic: Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a small team environment.
