Structural Draftsperson

Location: Orewa, Auckland

Hours: Full-Time

We are looking for a motivated Structural Draftsperson to join our team in our busy Orewa office.

Hutchinson is a well-established Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering consultancy with a collaborative culture and modern offices located near the beach. This role offers involvement in a wide range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, from concept design through to consent and construction documentation.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing structural drawings and details for building consent and construction, including foundations, framing, steel, timber and concrete elements
• Producing 2D drawings and 3D models using Revit and AutoCAD
• Working closely with our structural engineers to develop designs from sketches, mark-ups and calculations
• Co-ordinating with architects, civil and geotechnical engineers, and other consultants to resolve design interfaces
• Updating drawings in response to Council RFIs, design changes and site queries
• Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and document control to company standards
• Supporting the team with site measures and as-built documentation where required

What we're looking for:

• NZ Diploma in Engineering (Civil/Structural), Architectural Technology or equivalent, or relevant draughting experience
• Proven experience producing structural drawings, ideally within a New Zealand engineering consultancy
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Experience with Revit would be advantageous but is not essential
• Working knowledge of the NZ Building Code, NZS 3604 and building consent documentation requirements
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills
• A positive, proactive and team-focused attitude
