What they need
Insight Global is looking for a Structural Dynamics Analyst to support a leading aerospace and space exploration organization. This individual will be responsible for analyzing and predicting dynamic structural loads experienced by launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related aerospace systems. Day to day, this person will develop finite element models and super elements for dynamic analyses, perform loads assessments involving vibration, acoustic, shock, and inertial environments, and conduct modal analyses to characterize structural behavior and identify resonant frequencies. They will partner closely with structural design engineers to optimize structures for mass efficiency, performance, and durability while supporting test engineers in developing vibration and modal test plans. Additionally, they will prepare technical documentation, present analysis findings to stakeholders, and help ensure aerospace systems meet performance, safety, and mission requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field required
- 3+ years of experience in structural dynamics, vibration analysis, and/or launch vehicle dynamic analysis
- Strong experience developing finite element models (FEM) and performing structural dynamics analysis in aerospace or other highly engineered environments
- Proficiency with Nastran for finite element modeling, analytical simulations, and dynamic response analysis
- Experience performing static and dynamic analyses, including sine vibration, random vibration, shock, and vibro-acoustic analysis using both FEA and hand calculations
- Programming and data analysis experience using Matlab or Python
- Experience with signal processing and analysis in both time and frequency domains
- Background supporting vibration, shock, and modal testing, including test planning, execution, correlation, and interpretation of results
- Familiarity with SMC, MIL-STD, NASA, or other aerospace testing and analysis standards preferred
- Experience with Simcenter (NX) Nastran and/or Beta CAE tools (ANSA, META, EPYLISIS) is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with design, test, and systems engineering teams
