Specialization: Water & Wastewater Projects

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Structural Engineer with proven experience in the design and detailed engineering of reinforced concrete and steel structures for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure across the MENA region. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, economical, and constructible structural designs in full compliance with international standards, client requirements, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform structural analysis and design for water and wastewater facilities, including tanks, buildings, and pipe racks.
• Prepare and review design calculations, design reports, and construction drawings.
• Develop general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, and bar bending schedules (BBS).
• Conduct structural checks, including stability, serviceability, crack width, and durability requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant international design codes (ACI, BS, Eurocode) and local authority regulations.
• Coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines for fully integrated designs.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals during construction.
• Provide technical support throughout tendering, design, and construction stages.
• Participate in value engineering and optimization studies to enhance cost efficiency and constructability.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in structural design, preferably in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete design, water-retaining structures, and steel structures.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, Robot, or similar).
• Familiarity with international design codes (ACI 318, ACI 350, BS 8007, Eurocodes).
• Experience in reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
• Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken).
• Strong problem-solving, coordination, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with municipal water authorities or utility projects.
• Involvement in large-scale STPs, WTPs, and pumping station designs.
• Previous experience in the Gulf region is highly preferred.
