Structural Engineer

NELSON is currently looking for a Structural Engineer with 5-15 plus years' experience to join their team supporting multi-discipline projects.

• Capable of managing and directing junior engineers and designers
• Produce a complete design package with minimum oversight
• Develop detailed plans and drawings per project specifications
• Industrial and Offshore design experience required
• Field experiences a plus
• Perform computer aided design
• Create calculations, checking and other design tasks

Requirements

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis from an accredited university
• MS degree is desirable
• Professional Engineer License or Engineer in Training Certificate a plus
• 5-15 plus years of experience in industrial, oil & gas and/or marine structures
• Knowledge of U.S. Codes and standards required
• Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and direction
• Software (MS Office, Teams, structural analysis programs), Risa/SACS preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional and detail oriented
