Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer for an excellent position located in the Baltimore, MD area. This position will own full-cycle restoration construction projects: Diagnose deterioration, envelope distress, water intrusion, and performance shortfalls in existing buildings and structures, and complete analysis and design that improves long-term safety and supports code.

Responsibilities

• Develop repair strategies that improve long-term safety and support code.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, specialty consultants, and internal staff
• Direct or produce repair drawings, specifications, bid documents, and construction-phase reviews.
• Perform field inspections and quality observations on occupied buildings, active sites, rooftops, and similar environments, and present findings to stakeholders.
• Review team deliverables and coach/mentor junior engineers.
• Contribute to proposals and ongoing client development.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (master’s preferred)
• Active PE license
• 3+ years in structural, restoration, forensic, rehabilitation, or existing-building consulting.
• Hands-on experience assessing, investigating failures, and designing repairs.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, construction documents, and recommendations.
• Experience managing projects full scope, including budget, schedule, and clients.
• Forensic or failure analysis experience is a plus.
