Structural Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer / Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Sharjah, UAE. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in structural steel design, structural analysis, connection design, engineering calculations, and fabrication-related projects.

The candidate should be proficient in structural engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, IDEA StatiCa, and RAM Connection, with a strong understanding of steel structures, structural connections, static analysis, and preliminary design.

The successful candidate will be responsible for structural design, analysis, engineering calculations, and coordination with the design, fabrication, and production teams to ensure safe, accurate, and practical structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for structural steel and metalwork projects.
• Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and engineering documentation.
• Develop preliminary structural designs, member sizing, and design concepts.
• Conduct static analysis and evaluate structural performance under applicable loading conditions.
• Design and check steel structures, including beams, columns, bracing systems, and other structural components.
• Design and verify steel connections using IDEA StatiCa and RAM Connection.
• Use STAAD.Pro for structural modeling, analysis, and design of steel structures.
• Use ETABS where applicable for structural analysis and design requirements.
• Review structural drawings, fabrication drawings, and design details for accuracy and coordination.
• Coordinate with drafting, BIM, fabrication, and production teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Review connection details, load paths, and structural member adequacy.
• Identify design issues and recommend technically suitable solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable project specifications, relevant standards, and engineering requirements.
• Support the preparation of material take-offs, design revisions, and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and other stakeholders when required.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during fabrication and project execution.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in structural steel design, structural analysis, or steel fabrication projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel design principles and engineering calculations.
• Hands-on experience with STAAD.Pro.
• Working knowledge of ETABS, IDEA StatiCa, and RAM Connection.
• Understanding of static structural analysis and preliminary structural design.
• Knowledge of steel connections, bolted connections, and welded connections.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering details.
• Familiarity with relevant structural design codes and project specifications.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and technical coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering, drafting, production, and fabrication teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in structural steel fabrication and metal works.
• Experience with industrial structures, steel frames, platforms, and structural components.
• Practical knowledge of steel connection design and verification.
• Experience coordinating structural designs with fabrication and production requirements.
• Knowledge of structural detailing and constructability considerations.
