What they need
Structural Engineer
About the Role
A growing structural engineering team is looking for a Structural Engineer to join its Orlando-area office. This is an opportunity for a motivated building-structures engineer to take on meaningful design responsibilities while continuing to expand their technical expertise and project experience.
You’ll work on a variety of building projects and collaborate with experienced engineers, architects, clients, and other design professionals. The role offers the opportunity to work across multiple structural systems—including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood—while gaining greater ownership of projects as your experience develops.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering analysis and design for a variety of building projects
- Develop engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and analytical models
- Design and evaluate structural systems using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood
- Assist with projects through all phases of design and construction
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
- Participate in field observations and construction administration
- Attend project meetings and coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other design professionals
- Work independently while collaborating closely with a broader engineering team
- Take on increasing responsibility as your technical and project-management skills develop
Qualifications
- 3+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably focused on building structures
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
- EIT certification or successful completion of the FE exam
- Working knowledge of structural design principles and applicable building codes
- Familiarity with standards such as IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI
- Experience with structural analysis/design software and/or BIM platforms
- Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to take on greater responsibility
Why This Role
- Career Growth: Build toward increased project ownership and leadership responsibilities as your experience grows.
- Hands-On Design: Continue developing your technical skills across multiple structural systems and project types.
- Project Variety: Gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of building projects rather than being limited to one niche.
- Collaboration: Work alongside experienced engineers and design professionals while having meaningful involvement in projects.
- Professional Development: A strong opportunity for an engineer who wants to continue progressing toward the next stage of their career.
- Competitive Package: Competitive compensation with bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life/disability coverage, and a strong retirement plan.
- Orlando Opportunity: Join an established and growing engineering team in one of Central Florida’s most active building markets.
If you’re a structural engineer looking for a role where you can design, grow, take on more responsibility, and build toward the next step in your career , this could be a strong opportunity to explore.
