Treadwell Group provides fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) and composite solutions for the mining, infrastructure, water, wastewater and marine sectors.

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to develop safe, efficient and commercially practical designs for access systems, platforms, walkways, stairs and associated structures.

About the role

Working closely with our estimating, drafting and project teams, you will help translate customer requirements into engineered solutions. Your involvement will extend from concept development and tender support through to detailed design and technical support during delivery.

The role suits someone who combines sound engineering judgment with clear communication, attention to detail and an understanding of how structures are manufactured and installed.

What you will do

• Undertake structural analysis and design, including load assessment, member sizing, connection design, stability and serviceability checks.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design reports and technical documentation in accordance with applicable standards and project specifications.
• Review drawings for structural adequacy, accuracy, constructability and alignment with the approved design.
• Support estimating and sales teams with concept designs, technical advice and identification of design risks.
• Work with drafting, project and production teams to resolve technical queries and support project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors to clarify requirements and communicate engineering solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, material utilisation and standard engineering details.
• Manage design priorities and deadlines, escalating risks early and maintaining accurate engineering records.

What you will bring

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in structural analysis and design, with a sound understanding of Australian structural design standards.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and models.
• Practical knowledge of structural behaviour, connections, fabrication and installation considerations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance safety, performance, cost and delivery requirements.
• Confidence communicating directly with clients and working across technical and commercial teams.
• Ownership of your work, reliable follow-through and a commitment to quality.

Experience with FRP or composite structures will be highly regarded. Candidates with transferable experience in steel, aluminium or other structural materials are also encouraged to apply. Chartered status or progress towards professional registration would be an advantage.
