The work

No two weeks look the same in this role. You'll move between structural design and site-based assessment: one day designing the steel frame and footings for a commercial extension, the next inspecting foundation movement on a residential job or designing a retaining wall. That variety is deliberate. You'll build breadth across design, forensics and construction far faster than you would in a single-discipline seat, and you'll see your designs move from screen to site

Day to day you will be:

• Undertake detailed civil and structural design for commercial and residential projects
• Conduct site inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
• Prepare calculations, reports, and drawings in line with company documentation standards
• Perform forensic structural inspections, including investigation of structural damage, cracking, movement, and construction defects
• Prepare forensic engineering reports, including cause analysis, structural adequacy assessments, and repair recommendations
• Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards and NCC
• Deliver assigned tasks efficiently, meeting deadlines and budget requirements
• Design structural elements using timber, steel, and concrete

Some of our project work, including defence-adjacent and government infrastructure engagements, carries site access and security requirements that can only be met by Australian citizens, so citizenship is desirable for candidates wanting exposure to the full project mix. It is not a barrier to applying, non-citizens with full working rights are welcome and will have a strong pipeline of commercial, residential and forensic work.

Where you're at

We can shape the role around your level of experience. A few years in and keen to build investigation skills alongside a focus on design? We'll support that. More experienced and ready for a senior seat with a line toward leading delivery, that's open too

What you'll need

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Australian-accredited)
• 3+ years' post-graduate experience in civil or structural engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD.PRO, Structural Toolkit, Microstran, and CORD
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and the NCC
• Experience in forensic structural inspections and report writing is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to clients
• Motivated. Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop professionally
• Ability to meet key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Australian citizenship is highly desired for this position
