This company is an established civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Cardiff, delivering projects across South Wales, the South West and the M4 corridor. The business has a strong residential portfolio alongside commercial, healthcare and educational projects, with an established client base and a growing pipeline of work.

The company is ideally looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer, but applications are encouraged from Structural Engineers with at least two years’ of structural experience through to senior and principal-level professionals. Responsibilities and project ownership will be tailored to your experience, with clear succession planning and opportunities to progress towards Senior, Associate and Director level without a rigid promotion structure.

The package includes a competitive salary with opportunities for pay rise, an annual employee-ownership profit-related bonus, an electric car lease scheme paid through salary sacrifice before tax, professional membership fees and structured support towards ICE or IStructE chartership.

The Role

• Carry out structural analysis, design and calculations for new-build, refurbishment and alteration projects, across residential developments, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities and educational projects
• Design building structures and elements using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry
• Produce foundation designs and assessments using site investigation and ground-condition information
• Develop structural solutions from initial concept through detailed design and construction
• Work closely with architects, contractors, developers and clients and attend site visits, respond to technical queries and support projects during construction
• Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
• Hybrid working available, with significant remote flexibility for the right candidate

The Person

• Structural Engineer, Senior Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer.
• Working knowledge of UK design standards and building regulations
