About the Role

Archinova Structures is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to support our growing residential projects. The role will involve structural inspections, assessment of existing buildings, structural calculations and preparation of technical reports.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, communicate professionally with clients and deliver accurate, practical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out residential structural inspections and assess existing building conditions.
• Inspect and assess load-bearing walls, beams, roofs, floors and other structural elements.
• Investigate cracking, movement, subsidence and other structural defects.
• Prepare structural calculations and design solutions for residential alterations.
• Design/check steel beams, timber members, foundations and other structural elements.
• Support projects involving rear extensions, loft conversions, wall removals and structural alterations.
• Prepare clear structural reports, calculations and technical drawings/details.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other professionals where required.
• Ensure designs are prepared in accordance with relevant UK standards and Building Regulations.
• Work collaboratively with our technical team to deliver high-quality projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Relevant professional experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with UK residential structural design and inspections.
• Strong knowledge of structural calculations and assessment of existing buildings.
• Experience with steel, timber and foundation design.
• Familiarity with British Standards / Eurocodes.
• Good technical report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• MIStructE / MICE / CEng or relevant professional membership is desirable.
• Professional indemnity insurance appropriate to the work is desirable.
