ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a qualified Structural Inspector to join our Project and Construction Management team for a major Roads and Infrastructure Program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This position is part of our Infrastructure Division and plays a crucial role in ensuring that all structural works, (particularly related to bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels, concrete structures, and ancillary civil works) are carried out in strict compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and international standards.
As a Structural Inspector, you will supervise and inspect contractors’ work on site, verify compliance with approved structural drawings and specifications, and support the project team in delivering high‑quality construction supervision services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Main descriptions of the job position:
- Conduct daily inspections of structural works including reinforced concrete structures, steel structures, foundations, retaining walls, culverts, tunnels, precast elements, formwork, shoring, rebar installation, and concreting activities.
- Ensure that all materials, workmanship, and construction activities comply with project specifications, approved structural drawings, ITPs, and relevant international standards.
- Monitor the contractor’s activities to ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures, method statements, and project safety requirements.
- Report non-conformances (NCRs), workmanship deficiencies, or potential site hazards to senior staff and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, site observations, test results (slump tests, cube tests, load tests, etc.), and daily progress reports.
- Coordinate with testing laboratories and verify that required structural tests and inspections are performed and documented.
- Review and verify contractors’ Requests for Inspection (RFIs) and participate in approval processes.
- Support the Senior Structural Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical proposals.
- Participate in monitoring structural integrity during critical operations such as concrete pouring, prestressing, post-tensioning, and erection of steel structures.
- Assist in verifying as‑built documentation and supporting the handover process of structural works.
- Coordinate closely with civil, geotechnical, utilities, and road inspectors to ensure integrated site operations.
ABOUT YOU
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction supervision of structural works, preferably on roads, bridges, tunnels, or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and steel construction practices, structural detailing, and site quality control.
- Familiarity with KSA and international standards (MOMRA, MOT, ACI, ASTM, BS/EN, AASHTO, or equivalent).
- Experience working on PMCM programs or government infrastructure projects in KSA is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed structural drawings, rebar schedules, specifications, and method statements.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are considered an asset.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities within multicultural project environments.
