Take ownership of estimating across a strong pipeline of structural steel projects.

Diligent Group Australia is partnering with an established Queensland-based construction and engineering business to recruit an experienced Structural Steel Estimator.

This is a senior opportunity for someone who understands structural steel, can confidently interpret technical drawings and specifications, and knows how to build accurate, commercially sound tenders.

With a strong forward pipeline across commercial, civil and infrastructure projects, this role offers excellent remuneration, long-term stability and genuine influence across the tendering process.

Your Role

• Prepare detailed structural steel estimates and tender submissions
• Review drawings, specifications and scope documentation
• Complete material, labour and subcontractor take-offs
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Identify project risks, exclusions and commercial considerations
• Prepare accurate cost plans and tender documentation
• Liaise with internal project teams, suppliers and subcontractors
• Assist with tender handover following project award

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience estimating structural steel, fabrication or construction projects
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection
• Ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings
• Strong commercial and numerical capability
• High attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Australian construction experience will be highly regarded.
