We are currently partnering with a well-regarded, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to appoint an experienced Structural Team Leader. Our client is in a period of deliberate and targeted growth and is seeking a technically strong people leader to guide and further develop its structural capability.

Tō tūranga hou | Your new role

You will lead a small team of six structural engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, mentorship and day-to-day people leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is a business-critical appointment that will play a central role in shaping the future direction of the team and supporting the continued growth of the wider business.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will remain technically involved in complex structural engineering projects, overseeing design delivery, quality assurance and client outcomes. You will foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team culture while supporting the professional development of both emerging and experienced engineers.
This position will also see you take ownership of key client relationships, contribute commercially to project success and play an active role in business development and strategic growth initiatives. For the right person, there is genuine scope to influence the direction of the business and progress into a broader senior leadership position.

Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed

• CPEng status and the ability to act as a Producer Statement author for Auckland Council
• A minimum of 10 years' structural engineering experience, ideally within the industrial and/or power and energy sectors
• Strong New Zealand consultancy and project delivery experience
• Demonstrated experience leading structural engineering teams, mentoring technical professionals and supporting team development
• Proven capability across seismic assessment and strengthening, temporary works and technically challenging structures
• The ability to balance technical delivery, commercial priorities and people leadership responsibilities
• Commercial acumen, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
