About the Opportunity

Honda Aircraft Company is recruiting an Engineer, Structural Test in Greensboro, NC. You will design, execute, and analyze structural test programs for advanced composite and metallic airframe components on the cutting-edge HondaJet.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural Test Design: Design test fixtures, hydraulic loading systems, and test rigs for static, fatigue, and damage tolerance airframe tests.
• Instrumentation & Data Acquisition: Specify and install strain gages, load cells, LVDTs, and high-speed data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
• Test Execution: Lead full-scale and component-level structural tests, monitoring load application and structural responses in real time.
• Data Correlation & Analysis: Reduce raw test data and correlate experimental structural behavior with FEA stress models.
• Certification Reporting: Author formal structural test plans and compliance test reports for submission to the FAA and international aviation authorities.

Candidate Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Experience: 3+ years of aircraft structural testing, experimental mechanics, or test rig engineering experience.
• Technical Skills: Experience with MTS/Moog load control systems, strain gage instrumentation, LabVIEW, and structural stress analysis.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with FAA Part 23/25 structural certification requirements and composite airframe failure modes.
