STRUCTURE FOREMAN

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating workers, supervising structural works, ensuring work is carried out according to approved drawings and instructions, and maintaining good standards of quality, safety and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily steel structure fabrication and erection works.
• Allocate manpower and assign daily tasks to fitters, welders and general workers.
• Read and interpret structural, fabrication and erection drawings.
• Supervise cutting, drilling, fit-up, welding, grinding, assembly and installation works.
• Ensure structural members are correctly fabricated, aligned, levelled and installed according to drawings.
• Coordinate site erection activities including lifting, positioning, bolting and temporary supports.
• Monitor work progress and ensure daily production targets are achieved.
• Check workmanship, dimensions, alignment and overall quality before inspection or handover.
• Coordinate with Supervisor, Engineer/QS and other site personnel to resolve work-related issues.
• Monitor the proper use and condition of tools, machinery, lifting equipment and materials.

About you

• Minimum 3 years of experience in steel structure fabrication and/or erection.
• Experience as a Foreman, Chargehand or Senior Fitter will be an advantage.
• Able to read and understand structural/fabrication drawings.
• Good knowledge of steel fabrication, fit-up, welding and erection processes.
• Able to lead and coordinate a team of workers effectively.
• Good understanding of construction site safety and working-at-height requirements.
• Able to work at both workshop and project sites when required.
• Responsible, disciplined and able to work under pressure.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willing to travel or work at different project locations when required.
