Structured Cabling Technician / Helper

Job Summary

The Structured Cabling Helper supports lead technicians in installing, terminating, and testing low-voltage network cabling infrastructure. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals looking to build a career in telecommunications, network infrastructure, or low-voltage electrical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Cable Pulling & Routing: Assist in pulling copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A) and fiber optic cables through conduits, ceilings, walls, and floor risers.
• Site Preparation: Set up ladders, scaffolding, cable reels, tools, and safety equipment on job sites.
• Hardware Installation: Help mount support systems including J-hooks, cable trays, raceways, patch panels, and server racks.
• Labeling & Dress: Assist with labeling cables accurately according to job specifications and neatly bundling/dressing cables using Velcro or tie-wraps.
• Basic Termination: Assist with basic cable termination (RJ-45 jacks, patch panels, and keystones) under supervisor guidance.
• Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by clearing debris, managing scrap material, and packing tools.
