Student Aid/Shadow

Overview

Join our team as a Student Aid/Shadow and play a vital role in supporting educational and recreational activities for children. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in youth development, classroom management, and child supervision while fostering a positive environment for young learners. As a Student Aid/Shadow, you will assist a student in various one-on-one and small class environments with classwork and remaining regulated. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about working with children and eager to develop their skills in education.

Responsibilities

• Support a student during classroom activities such as classwork and and positive social interactions with peers
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement
• Facilitate youth group activities, encouraging participation and teamwork among children of diverse backgrounds
• Maintain a positive environment by promoting respectful behavior and conflict resolution among children
• Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and needs to inform program staff of any concerns or developmental milestones

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly desirable
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
• Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, AED operation, or related health safety training are preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage children effectively and collaborate with team members
• Experience in special education or working with children with additional needs is a plus
