Job Summary

KVLU is seeking a motivated and dependable student assistant to support station operations and outreach. This position offers hands-on experience in media production, communications, and administrative support while representing KVLU at campus and community events.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests.
• Assist with reporting, hosting radio features, audio production, and media writing.
• Represent KVLU at student recruitment events, orientations, and Lamar University athletic events.
• Support bulk mailing preparation and general office tasks (answering phones, transferring calls, taking messages).
• Operate office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, shredder).
• Organize and refile the music library.
• Digitize station audio and print archives.
• Run campus errands as needed.
• Perform other administrative duties or special projects as assigned.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

• Must meet eligibility requirements for the Federal Work-Study Program (as determined by the Financial Aid Office).
• Reliable and dependable with strong interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Able to work effectively in a team-centered environment.
• Demonstrates professional office etiquette.
• Familiarity with office equipment and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions, accept responsibility, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and peers.
