Are you studying healthcare, health and social care, science or a related subject and looking for experience in a clinical setting?

Little Stars 4D Scan is offering a supervised student placement at our Sheffield ultrasound clinic. You will gain experience in patient support, reception and clinic administration while learning about ultrasound services.

What you’ll learn and do

• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable.
• Support appointment bookings, check-in and routine enquiries.
• Learn how ultrasound works, the different types of scans and their role in patient care.
• Observe ultrasound appointments with patient consent and staff supervision.
• Learn about chaperoning, patient dignity and professional boundaries.
• Assist with printing scan images and reports under staff guidance.
• Help prepare clinic rooms, organise supplies and maintain cleanliness.
• Develop an understanding of confidentiality, data protection, safeguarding and infection prevention.

All activities will be appropriate to your training and agreed learning objectives. This placement does not qualify you to perform ultrasound scans or provide clinical advice independently.

• Able to attend agreed placement days consistently.

Previous clinic experience is not essential. Please include details of your course and any college or university placement requirements.
