What they need

Student Support Officer

About the role

We're a Registered Training Organisation delivering high-risk work licences, nationally accredited programs and corporate training to individuals and organisations across a range of industries, including mining and resources. We're looking for an experienced, organised Student Support Officer to help our learners move smoothly from enrolment through to completion.

Your focus will be on supporting students through their training: tracking attendance and progress and making sure student records are accurate and audit-ready. You'll also help process enrolments and work closely with our trainers and operations team.

The role is part-time, 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) with the potential to grow into a full-time position. Some flexibility in working hours is required to cover 7.30am-3.30pm and 9.00-5.00pm shifts.

What you'll be doing

  • Monitoring student attendance and virtual login activity.
  • Preparing and distributing student progress reports to individuals and client organisations
  • Assisting with enrolment processing, including checking documentation and funding eligibility evidence
  • Monitoring student payments and issuing invoices
  • Booking students into scheduled sessions and keeping records up to date across our systems
  • Providing first-level support to students, via phone and email.
  • Contributing ideas to improve our student support processes
  • Preparing courses in advance, including materials, equipment and Zoom links, for both on-site and off-site programs

What you'll need

  • At least 12 months' experience in an administration role
  • Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office, including Excel, plus Google Sheets
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility with working hours

Highly regarded

  • Experience in an RTO or VET environment
  • Experience using Zoom to support online learning or meetings
  • Familiarity with student management or learning platforms such as PowerPro, Moodle or Xero
  • Understanding of enrolment processes and funding eligibility requirements

Why join us

You'll be part of a supportive, professional team where your work directly shapes the experience of every learner who comes through our doors. If you take pride in getting the details right and enjoy helping people succeed, we'd love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your administration experience and any RTO or VET background.
