Student Support Officr

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Student Support Officer to join our growing English Academy team in Riverview.

About the Role

As the Student Support Officer, you'll be a key point of contact for international students throughout their journey with the Academy. From welcoming students on arrival to supporting their wellbeing, engagement and success, you'll help create a positive and supportive learning environment while ensuring compliance with international education requirements.

This is a diverse and rewarding role that combines student welfare, administration, engagement activities and compliance support.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing front-line support and guidance to international students
• Assisting students to access internal and external support services while building their confidence and independence
• Coordinating orientation and onboarding activities for new students
• Organising student events, excursions, graduations and wellbeing initiatives
• Monitoring attendance and course progress records and supporting intervention processes for at-risk students
• Maintaining accurate student records within aXcelerate, SharePoint and other approved systems
• Preparing student correspondence and documentation
• Supporting CRICOS, ESOS and National Code compliance requirements
• Assisting with student lifecycle administration, including leave requests, medical certificates, transfers and course completions
• Contributing to a safe, welcoming and culturally inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

You will be a personable and organised professional who enjoys working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and has a genuine passion for supporting student success.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience in student services, international education, ELICOS, RTO, community services or a similar customer-focused environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to engage confidently with students primarily in English
• Excellent administration and record management skills with strong attention to detail
• Experience using systems such as aXcelerate, PRISMS, SharePoint and Microsoft Office (desirable)
• An understanding of student welfare, privacy and appropriate escalation practices
• Knowledge of CRICOS, ESOS and National Code requirements, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge
• The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of service

Qualifications

The following would be highly regarded:

• Qualification in Student Services, Education Support, Administration, Community Services or a related field
• Certificate IV in Counselling, Mental Health or similar student welfare training
• Mental Health First Aid and/or First Aid certification
• Previous experience supporting international students or working within an English language academy
