What they need

Craft + Common is looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Studio Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our Pottery Painting Studio + Bar in Ansdell.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll oversee studio operations, supervise our small team and make sure every customer receives a warm and enjoyable experience.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership and getting stuck in. You’ll need to be equally comfortable organising the team, dealing with customers, keeping on top of stock and bookings, and stepping in wherever needed to keep the studio running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the studio
  • Supervising, supporting and motivating a small team
  • Organising staff rotas
  • Maintaining excellent standards of customer service
  • Managing bookings and responding to customer enquiries
  • Overseeing stock levels and ordering supplies
  • Making sure the studio is clean, organised and welcoming
  • Helping coordinate workshops, parties and events
  • Training and supporting new members of the team
  • Handling day-to-day studio administration
  • Supporting promotions, social media and local marketing when required
  • Working closely with the owners and area manager to improve how the studio operates

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be someone who is naturally organised, reliable and good with people. You’ll enjoy taking responsibility and won’t be afraid to roll your sleeves up when things get busy.

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in a supervisory or management role, particularly within retail, hospitality, leisure, events or another customer-facing environment.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Is warm, approachable and confident with customers
  • Can lead and support a small team
  • Is organised and able to prioritise
  • Uses their initiative and solves problems
  • Has excellent attention to detail
  • Is dependable and takes ownership of their responsibilities
  • Enjoys working in a busy, creative environment
  • Is flexible and happy to help wherever needed

Why join Craft + Common?

You’ll be joining a friendly, creative independent business where you can have a genuine impact on how the studio is run.

It’s a varied role with plenty of responsibility and would suit someone who enjoys working with people, creating a great customer experience and being at the heart of a small business.
