Scott Anson Painters & Decorators has over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across commercial and domestic settings. From new builds and industrial premises to regeneration schemes and void properties, we undertake a wide range of projects in Yorkshire and the West Midlands, we're looking to expand our network of skilled, reliable and committed self-employed Painter & Decorator subcontractors.

The role

Your work may include:

• Interior and exterior painting.
• Surface preparation, filling, sanding and making good.
• Painting walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards and other woodwork.
• Applying paint and finishes to the required specification.
• Working to project deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe.

Experience in commercial-grade wallpapering and paint spraying would be an advantage, but neither is essential. We're interested in decorators with strong core painting skills, a good work ethic and pride in delivering a quality finish.

Our projects can be fast-paced and deadline-driven, so reliability, a positive attitude and the ability to maintain an excellent standard of finish under pressure are essential.

Essential requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Full UK driving licence and own transport: Our office and yard are based in Sheffield, and projects take place across Yorkshire, the West Midlands and potentially other areas of the UK. You must be able to travel independently to sites.
• Valid, in-date CSCS card: A Blue Skilled Worker card is preferred. A Green Labourer card will be considered for candidates with substantial painting and decorating knowledge and experience.

Desirable skills and qualifications - but not essential

• Experience with commercial-grade wallpapering and paint spraying.
• A valid UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate.
• Public Liability Insurance: Minimum £2 million limit of indemnity.

Rates and working arrangements

Rates will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience and ability. Pricing and the scope of work will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicants and our directors before work commences.

The opportunities are for self-employed subcontractors, with work allocated according to project requirements and availability.
