Subcontract Manager

The Subcontract Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of construction and service subcontracts at the project site, ensuring timely mobilization, execution, commercial control and closure of subcontract packages. The role will work closely with Construction, Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Quality and HSE teams to ensure subcontractors deliver in line with project schedule, contractual requirements and site priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage subcontract packages for major site execution activities including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, equipment erection, electrical, instrumentation and associated construction works.
• Support subcontracting strategy, package finalization, scope definition, RFQ/RFP process, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiation and award of subcontracts.
• Ensure clear definition of Scope of Work (SOW), BOQ, deliverables, milestones, payment terms and contractual obligations before award/mobilization.
• Coordinate mobilization of subcontractors, including manpower, equipment, construction resources and required site documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against project schedule, productivity targets, milestones and contractual commitments.
• Work closely with Construction and Planning teams to identify manpower/resource gaps and initiate corrective actions with subcontractors.
• Review and validate subcontractor RA bills, quantity measurements, extra-item requests, rate analysis and supporting documentation in coordination with QS/Commercial teams.
• Manage variations, change orders, claims, extensions of time, back-charges and contractual correspondence with subcontractors.

Job Requirements :

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Civil/Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent engineering qualification. Additional qualification in Contracts/Construction Management will be advantageous.

Experience: Experience in subcontract/contracts management, with substantial exposure to site execution of large EPC/process plant projects.
